The Alabama A&M University head women’s soccer coach Prince Borde announced on Monday the 2024 schedule, which includes eight regular season games at home.
“We are excited about the upcoming season,” Borde said. “We have a lot of new players, and they will fit in well with the mixture of veterans we have returning. Last year, we finished the season strong, and we hope to build off that this year. I am truly excited for this team and look forward to the upcoming season.”
Of the eight home games, four are against Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) opponents.
Alabama A&M, which went 3-16 overall and 3-6 in conference play last season, will have two scrimmages prior to the start of the regular season. The Bulldogs will play host to Motlow Community College (August 7) and Cumberlands (August 10) at the Bulldog Soccer Field.
AAMU opens the season with four straight road games, starting on August 15 at Memphis, followed by Lipscomb (August 18), Stetson (August 22) and North Florida (August 25).
The Bulldogs return home for four consecutive games, starting on September 1 against West Georgia. AAMU will also meet Middle Tennessee (September 5), Northwestern State (September 8) and South Carolina State (September 12).
Alabama A&M will play one final non-conference game on September 21 at Charleston Southern.
The Maroon and White will play conference home games against the defending conference champions, Grambling State (September 27), Arkansas-Pine Bluff (September 29), Alcorn State (October 11) and Senior Day against Mississippi Valley State (October 13).
The Bulldogs have road SWAC games against Jackson State (October 4), Southern (October 6), Texas Southern (October 18), Prairie View A&M (October 20) and Alabama State (November 1).
The 2024 SWAC Women’s Tournament will be held November 7-10.
